The AmiPur^® PLUS II amine purification system features Recoflo^® ion exchange to continuously remove heat stable salts (HSS) from the amine circuit. A lean amine solution passes through the ion exchange resin bed where the HSS are selectively removed and the purified amine is recycled back into the circuit, allowing for consistent performance and reduced amine purchasing costs.

The AmiPur CCS is specifically designed to remove HSS from amine circuits used to capture and store carbon dioxide. Petrochemical plants, fertilizer plants, and coal plants use amine to capture carbon dioxide to reduce emissions into the atmosphere. HSS in the amine circuit can build up and become corrosive and reduce amine absorber performance and efficiency, but the AmiPur CCS mitigates these concerns through the continuous removal of HSS contaminants.
